- This introduction project was all about trying to learn some of the basics of photoshop. Mostly to get us comfortable with the program and cutting and pasting things to make an end product. Our task as students during this project was to make a self portrait using objects that describe us a people. Things like favorite foods, activities, past times etc... You use these things to make a self portrait.
- What worked well was the use of the magnetic lasso tool to aid me in cutting certain objects out of a whole picture.
- The things that proved to be most challenging for me were getting started and learning the basics of photoshop. Since i have a very small background with photoshop before this class it was mostly finding were certain tools were and finding out what each tool did and what purpose each tool served. Photoshop can be complex so this was a hard part for me.
- What I think I might do differently next project is manage my time better and use more time to get a better end result. Also I might use a lot more keyboard short cuts to reduce the amount of time I spend on small stuff.
- The main tools i used were the magnetic lasso tool and the magic wand tool. Since this project involved a lot of cutting of images to put them together to make one image I used these the most. I would use the magnetic lasso tool when it was something more difficult to cut with weird edges to get the perfect cute. I would then use the magic wand tool to easy select a whole image to be cut.
- Some ways I can use what i learned in the future, beyond the classroom, Is that I want to eventually start my own clothing brand and programs like photoshop can be a vital part to that industry.
